Male Arrested Re Burglary in Water Orton

Police were initially called to Smiths Way, Water Orton after a member of the public witnessed two suspicious males in a car at around 0220am on Friday 29th March 2019.

Burglary As officers were travelling to the scene it became apparent that a house had broken into, this was confirmed by a West Midlands Police unit who had come across the border to assist. The offenders had snapped the lock to the detached property and once inside took a number of possessions. It is believed that they were after a car which was parked on the drive.

As officers conducted an area search they found the car which was reported by the original caller and a 22-year-old man from Birmingham was found pretending to be asleep on the back seat. The male was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Later that morning officers from Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood team conducted a number of house to house inquiries and also offered crime prevention advice to local residents.

The 22 Year old who was arrested for the Burglary is currently assisting Nuneaton CID with the investigation. The second male was not located but is being traced.
