Advice on Agricultural GPS Equipment

The theft of agricultural GPS systems sadly continues to be reported across the country.
Sgt Rawson from the Warwickshire Police Rural Crime Team visited a local farm to install a new covert and overt marking system on the tractor GPS unit.
Our team is working with the NFU Online, NFU Mutual, Datatag ID Limited, NAVCIS and other partners to do everything we can to address this crime, as well as linking in with other forces and national intelligence.
Arrests have recently been made and good work is being done both by the police in this country and abroad where equipment is sometimes found.
If you use this type of equipment on your farm please see our advice sheet on our website www.warwickshireruralwatch.co.uk, record all serial numbers, store in a secure place where possible when not in use and mark both visibly and invisibly, plus be aware when working in the fields and on the farm and report anyone seen acting suspiciously.
A small number of GPS marking kits are available if you have this type of equipment on your farm, whilst stocks last. For details email ruralcrimeteam@warwickshire.police.uk
