Operation Mouldboard
This week officers from the OPU have taken part in Operation Mouldboard. This is a pro-active policing operation to target vehicles that are committing ‘construction and use’ offences on Warwickshire’s road network. We have utilised a number of sites across the county and dealt with a vast number of vehicles that were found to be committing offences. These include vehicles in a dangerous condition, load security, overweight vehicles and document offences in relation to weight and towing restrictions.
A number of vehicles with dangerous defects were issued with immediate prohibitions to ensure that they are taken off the road until they are fixed. There was enforcement for a large number of offences, coupled with an educational input for some, if appropriate.
The overarching aim is to take positive action to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured whilst travelling on Warwickshire’s roads.
